Ok… I’m sorry but I must confess. I am always wondering what it's like being in the fridge when the door is closed. Have you EVER thought that? I mean I do at least once a day. Whenever you look in the light is ON, but you can never catch it without the light on. What do all those THINGS do inside when you aren’t looking? What is the difference for the vegetables if the light is on or not? How do you know inside without turning the light on? What does it mean? I feel so out of sync. It’s like an out of sync empathy that you get when you miss that phone call from your crush. Or when there’s a meme going around and you don’t seem to understand it, but you laugh anyway. You know. THE ONE. Do you know what I mean? Whatever you know or not, the point is that the closed door always lures me in.
Let me be a bit clearer. It’s like that time when I went to the school dance and I felt like I was in such a trance. You know, going through the motions. I was awake, I was dancing. But I couldn’t seem to wake up. I was so amazed that I finally gotta go to a dance with my crush. WOW. I had on the best dress. I looked HOT. But I couldn’t enjoy it, ya know? I was going through the ritual, but I couldn’t dance with my FULL heart. It was sure hard work to keep the smile on my face. LOL. Tell me you also know what I mean….so crazy to confess this all out there like this…
It is HARD WORK being like this. But you know, I need to do some serious bragging here. I think thinking about the fridge with the light on or off is such a BIG thing. You know, it has a lot of meaning in there, behind the closed doors. There’s a code that I think I’m starting to understand. Do you see what I mean yet? Maybe you aren’t smart enough anyway. Cause when I say that this is big I mean it FOR sure.
Let’s think about it in carrots. The carrots are in the fridge. When the light is on they are on, glowing ready to dance. We know they are orange and crunch and my mama says they are good for my eyes. But when the light is off? We will never know and that makes me nervous. I can’t understand those carrots just like I can’t understand that orange emoticon from my crush after that time we danced.
I guess it would go something like this:
CARROT: hello there the light is on so now I can be my crazy self.
ME: But WHO are you? I like your new green hair by the way.
CARROT: Thanks. I had some help from the cucumber over here. Man do they help moisturise!
ME: Wow…. how did this all happen when the door was closed and the light was off?
CARROT: *closed door*
BUT maybe you can help me out? That’s why I’m putting this all out there like that. I know there is a code. I just need to think a bit more. I’m almost there…
CARROT: Hello again.
ME: wait what? I don’t have the light on. The door is closed.
CARROT: Let me show you something. You are inside with us now.
ME: OMG.
CARROT: This is you. You are one of us. You are part of the system. The light is off so this is the REAL YOU.
ME: Nah, the real me is when the light is on. I am my own unique self. Don’t try and trick me. All my friends know that I’m an Aries.
CARROT: NO. When the light is on you are an agglomeration of yourself. Of all the masks you put on.
ME: hold on… I have to google that…
CARROT: you can’t google that from here. You KNOW what I mean. Come on. You put up those pretty photos of yourself and make it look like you are having more fun than the poor onions who are crying over here. You try and attract that meat. But it’s all a LIE.
ME: ok maybe a bit, but that’s also me you know? So it’s not really a lie. You are making all my nervousness come out. I just want to fit in with you guys here. I want to be able to SEE. Can you turn the light back on? I can’t take this…
