Orte

» Hiding in one’s studies at an unexciting Ort – For what? Contemplating on setting out, yet remaining for a while, the experience of a continual coming and going: an exchange of ideas and inspirations from other discussions. Every dislocation or new encounter away von dem Ort follows a change of perception: a personal discovery, the beginning of a journey. The beginning of a journey to find an environment and a way of thinking, einen Ort he or she can identify with.

Desire, a rebellion against the prevailing thinking vor Ort, curiosity for unexpected riches, passion for the unknown, … all make him or her set out to wander around questioning. Every step brings new discoveries, new questions. Every step leads to a new step, some might lead back to a familiar environment to contemplate, to rethink the following step. Irritated, lost and impossible to continue. But then again certainty replaces uncertainty, or the fearlessness of certainty is replaced by uncertainty, and the insatiable desire for discovery returns. Onwards, where he or she leaves behind traces, traces others might follow. Trails might emerge, become known. Orientation replaces disorientation. Bored, exhausted yet restless. «

2012

I completed my Diploma of architecture at TU Braunschweig, Germany, in 2007. While studying I gained interest in different approaches to practising architecture and worked for two emerging offices in Vienna and Moscow. After finalizing my degree I continued working for and with numerous architects and artists in Vienna, Rotterdam, London and Paris, including feld72, OMA and Didier Faustino, among others. It was a journey through different historical narratives, cultures and discussions. During this period I worked on various projects on everything from artistic projects to art installations, iconic constructions and masterplans. In 2011, I was awarded a scholarship by the German DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) to partake in the M.A. programme in Research Architecture at Goldsmiths College London, under the tutelage of John Palmesino, Andy Lowe and Prof. Eyal Weizeman. Since 2014 I live and work in Berlin, where I have held different posts, including and beyond working I was teaching as Assistant Professor (wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin) with Prof. Philipp Oswalt at Uni Kassel at the Department for Architectural Design and Theory.
