“Der Marienkäfer“ is a project of an outdoor swimming-pool in Donetsk, which will open up one of the surrounding lakes for the locals. The structure will be situated directly in and above the water surface, so therefore the construction should be as compact as possible and maintain maximal watersurface. We will create a new terraced landscape leading straight towards water, hiding all technical facilities underneath. „Der Marienkäfer“ has got his name after its winter coat, which protects the terraces from the cold and create a unique space for a sauna & wellness place. This cover will look like a torch in the dark winter days, and its transparency will preserve the visual contact between the indoor and the outer landscape.
